WPI-Bio2Q Newsletter “Bio2Q Connect” Vol.2, Issue 13 Released

WPI-Bio2Q has published the latest issue of its newsletter, “Bio2Q Connect” (Vol. 2, Issue 13, January 29, 2026). This issue covers a broad spectrum of activities, from high-level scientific seminars on single-cell multi-omics to strategic initiatives for university internationalization and DEI, as well as outreach programs designed to inspire future scientists.

Key Topics in This Issue:

Seminar by Dr. Masahiro Kanai: A report on groundbreaking research using large-scale single-cell multi-omics data from the FinnGen cohort to map regulatory cascades in immune diseases.

Strategic Growth (JAFSA Training): Insights from the JAFSA University Internationalization Management Training Program. Bio2Q is developing action plans to foster intercultural sensitivity and advance internationalization within the university.

Research Introduction (Series #11): Featuring Dr. Joaquim Caner (Bio-1 Core), who discusses his work on illuminating the “dark matter” of the gut microbiome through synthetic chemistry and metabolic flux analysis.

SpringX CHO School Online Lecture Series: Announcement of a special three-part online series starting this February. Topics include synapse repair, the fusion of AI and quantum computing in life sciences, and 3D imaging of living cells.

DEI Survey Results: Sharing the findings of a recent Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion survey. With an average satisfaction score of 4.0/5, Bio2Q is committed to further improving career transparency and bias awareness.

Inspiring the Next Generation: Introducing the Booklet Series for Young Readers, featuring interviews with PIs Dr. Kaoru Hida Leong, Dr. Takanori Kanai, and Dr. Oltea Sampetrean tailored for middle and high school students.
