Abstract:
Synaptic communication depends on the organisation of receptors and associated proteins into dynamic molecular assemblies. Understanding these interactions is essential for explaining how neuronal connections are established and regulated. Our research combines structural biology, biophysics and protein engineering to investigate the molecular organisation of excitatory synapses.
In this talk, I will discuss how these complementary approaches help us study extracellular proteins and their relationships with neurotransmitter receptors, providing a molecular perspective on synaptic organisation and function.
