New Research Internship Student – Ms. Buse Nur Kiral

July 6, 2026

Introducing a new Research Internship Student of Bio2Q

We are delighted to welcome Ms. Buse Nur Kiral as a Research Internship Student of Bio2Q.

”From Izmir to Tokyo: My Next Scientific Adventure!

Hello, Bio2Q world! I’m Buse Nur Kiral, and to be completely honest, I’ve been counting down
the minutes until my flight to Tokyo. I am joining the WPI-Bio2Q family this summer as a
Research Intern, and my excitement levels are officially off the charts!

I recently graduated with a degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics. Throughout my
undergraduate years, I fell head over heels in love with life sciences spending countless hours
in the lab, analyzing complex pathways, and realizing just how much I want to contribute to the
future of human health. For me, science isn’t a stiff career path but it’s a genuine curiosity about
how life works at its most fundamental level.

One Internship and Two Fascinating Worlds!

What drew me to Bio2Q is its beautifully interdisciplinary nature. I am profoundly honored to
be co-supervised by two incredible scientists who look at human biology from entirely different,
yet equally captivating angles.

During my time here, I’ll be diving into Dr. Juntaro Matsuzaki’s world of cancer detection and
biomarkers, while also exploring Dr. Michisuke Yuzaki’s brilliant research on neuroscience
and synapse physiology. Getting to merge my molecular background with these diverse fields
feels like being handed the keys to the ultimate scientific playground!

I am moving from Izmir to Tokyo with a suitcase packed with tons of enthusiasm, a massive
appetite for learning, and a sneaky little pack of authentic Turkish Delight hidden away for my
new lab mates to enjoy. I truly believe that the best science happens when we share both great
ideas and warm smiles.

I am so ready to absorb the incredible energy of Keio University and collaborate with such
world-class minds. I absolutely cannot wait to arrive and meet you all very soon and hopefully
get to know each of you even closer in the days to come!”
