Introducing a New Research Internship Student of Bio2Q
We are delighted to welcome Mr. Omar Moustafa Hassan Elatal as a Research Internship Student of Bio2Q.
”Hello! My name is Omar Moustafa Hassan Elatal, a biology student from Morocco. I recently completed my bachelor’s studies in Biology and Biotechnology at Hassan II University. For the past few weeks, I have had the immense pleasure of being part of the Bio2Q community as a research intern.
Throughout my studies and previous research experiences, I developed a strong interest in molecular biology, particularly in understanding how RNA biology, epigenetics, and disruptions in proteostasis contribute to human disease.
With this in mind, I have been very fortunate to work on a collaborative project between the laboratories of Prof. Juntaro Matsuzaki and Prof. Nadinath Nillegoda. So far, I have been carrying out the first part of the project in the Matsuzaki Laboratory, where I have been learning new experimental techniques, deepening my understanding of miRNA biology, and experiencing firsthand the wonderful research environment at Bio2Q. I greatly look forward to continuing the project in the Nillegoda Laboratory during the second half of my internship.
Outside the laboratory, I enjoy reading, playing chess, composing and performing piano music, and exploring art. In particular, I am very passionate about classical music, and I’m always eager to discover new composers and works!
My time at Bio2Q has exceeded every expectation: from the moment I arrived, everyone has welcomed me with remarkable kindness, patience, and generosity. Whether in the laboratory or outside of it, I have consistently been met with encouragement and a genuine willingness to help me learn and grow. I am sincerely grateful to my mentors, colleagues, and everyone who has contributed to making this internship such a meaningful experience.
Beyond Bio2Q, I have also been deeply touched by the warmth and hospitality I have encountered throughout Japan. Every day, I continue to be inspired by the generosity, enthusiasm, and culture of mutual support around me. Being part of this community has been an incredible privilege, and I look forward to everything I will continue to learn over the coming weeks!”
