ANNOUNCEMENT
New Member – Dr. Ashish Joshi
November 6, 2024
Introducing new member of Bio2Q We are delighted to welcome Dr. Ashish Joshi as a postdoctoral fellow at Q core of Bio2Q.
The greeting from Dr. Joshi is as follows.
“My research interests lie in using computational approaches to solve complex scientific problems. I completed my Ph.D. in physics recently, during which I studied quantum many-body systems, like quantum magnets, using machine learning methods. For my next step, I will be working with Dr. Koyama (PI) at the Quantum Computing Core of Bio2Q, developing machine learning and quantum computing techniques for biology.
I believe that interdisciplinary research is crucial to address intricate problems in the modern sciences and rapid advances can be made by leveraging the knowledge and creativity of seemingly disparate fields. For this reason, I am inspired by the mission of Bio2Q. The idea of combining microbiome research with machine learning and quantum computing is very challenging and enthralling at the same time. While machine learning is already making huge strides in various fields, when combined with quantum computing it has the potential to revolutionize the field of scientific computing. At Bio2Q, I am looking forward to collaborating with the experts in various fields and bridging the gap between these different research fields.”
