Prof. Lodish highlighted the connection between academia and entrepreneurship in biotechnology, covering key aspects of starting a biotech company, intellectual property, and assembling a team with diverse expertise. The importance of scientists leveraging their expertise by consulting for or founding companies and the advantage of research institutes being located near biotech companies for collaboration was also discussed.
