【CHO School Series】Exploring the Frontiers of Life Science: A Special 3-Part Online Lecture Series

January 19, 2026

January 19, 2026

Keio University Human Biology-Microbiome-Quantum Research Center (WPI-Bio2Q)  in collaboration with Knowledge Capital, will host a three-part online special lecture series starting February 6. Presented as part of the “SpringX CHO School” series, this program explores the cutting edge of life sciences, driven by advances in technologies for visualizing cells and molecules, as well as the latest innovations such as AI.

Session 1: February 6
“Building Bridges Across Synapses: Tackling Brain and Body Diseases from a Synaptic Perspective”
Speaker: Dr. Michisuke Yuzaki
This lecture will discuss the potential for innovative treatments that aim for fundamental cures by “rebuilding bridges” across damaged synapses.

Session 2: February 20
“AI x Quantum Computing x Life Sciences: A New Dimension of Life Sciences Through Integrated Technologies”
Speaker: Dr. Takahiko Koyama
Life sciences are undergoing a revolutionary transformation through integration with computing technologies. This session will explore the new possibilities this fusion brings to research and provide an easy-to-understand explanation of how quantum computing works and its applications in the life sciences.

Session 3: March 6
“3D Snapshots of Living Cells at Atomic Resolution”
Speaker: Dr. Kunimichi Suzuki
State-of-the-art imaging technologies now allow us to directly capture molecules inside and on the surface of living cells. By observing how cells connect, we can begin to visualize the mechanisms that shape the “mind.” This lecture will provide an overview of these cutting-edge “visualizing” technologies.

Event Details:

Time: 19:30 – 20:30 (JST) for each session

Format: Online

Admission: Free

Registration: No advance registration is required

We welcome anyone interested in the future of medicine and life sciences to join us.
